Meet Shirell Gross…

Determined to Succeed

Shirell was born in Hartford, CT to a 14-year-old mother. Despite her mother's youth, Shirell was given all the opportunities for success. At an early age, Shirell demonstrated great potential and was nurtured by her mother and other family members.

Shirell grew up driven by her own ambition, as well as the encouragement she received from others. She became the first in her family to attend college, and then to pursue a graduate degree. After earning a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University, she became a Prosecutor in Bronx, New York and found it professionally fulfilling to advocate for others and work on their behalf.

Successful in the Corporate World

Shirell ventured into Corporate America as legal counsel for Quest Diagnostics. She later took on the role of Senior Counsel for Bayer, a multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company. There, she continued to build her career and reached the Vice President level. This secured her strong and well-regarded reputation as a successful corporate executive. Shirell demonstrated great leadership in her position and leveraged her skills and influence to mentor other leaders.

Her focus, tenacity, hard work, and keen ear for corporate politics enabled her to develop and maintain key relationships with mentors and peers over the years.

Pursuing A Passion for People

After achieving great success in her career, Shirell experienced her own life RESET and left the corporate world to RESTART and pursue her calling to help organizations and individuals as an inspirational speaker,  life and professional coach through her company Measure of Ambition LLC dba ShirellSpeaks.

After a two-year hiatus from the practice of law, Shirell recently returned to Corporate as a Senior Legal Executive at Medtronic, the largest global medical technology company in the world. In this capacity, she has to ability to mentor, sponsor, and develop employees to reach their full potential. Shirell has also continued her advocacy for inclusion and equity in the medical devices and pharmaceutical industries.

Shirell’s passion centers around helping people from all walks of life be and achieve their best. Additionally, as an Executive Women of Color and working mother, Shirell has successfully navigated unique challenges and will help other women do the same. She is also passionate about using the skills and experiences she amassed from her successful career to help others accomplish their personal and professional goals. She challenges people through speaking, coaching, and skill development to COME BACK STRONGER, RESET, RESTART, and forge a new path towards a personal and professionally satisfying life.
